About
What is all this?
This is my little, insignificant piece of the internet to do with as I please. Past attempts to create a website solely about type, or web design, or my portfolio failed as soon as I became bored with the topic and wanted to explore something else. So why not have one website and throw it all in at the same time? Mainly because it can become a mess — but it’s my website, so I’ll do it anyway.
Oh, and yes — my name is Addison Hall.
Do you work?
Are you kidding? I have a wife, two beautiful daughters, a dog, and two cats — that’s a lot of mouths to feed! Yes I work. I design things like logos and books, but websites seem to occupy most of my time. The mixture of computers and design keeps me very content, not to mention the vibrant community of web craftsmen sharing their ideas all over the world.
And yes, I’m hip to web standards — I think it’s a good thing. Screwing around and testing on all the different browsers sucks. I’d like to know that if my site validates, it’s guaranteed to work. What’s so wrong about that? Accessibility ain’t a bad side-effect, either.
Where do you live?
My family and I reside in the small, but growing town of Flowood, Mississippi, right outside of Jackson.
Hobbies?
I tend to go through phases. I paint, play guitar, garden, read, study type history (you know, the alphabet and letters and stuff), and occasionally try my hand at designing type (I’ll post a section on this at some point). Most of the time I simply enjoy being at home with my wife doing whatever we feel like doing — Scrabble or Yahtzee even keeps us happy some nights. We have old souls.
Anything else?
Maybe later. I’ve got other things to do right now.
