Life is good

10 September 2006

What can I say—two little girls, my own successful business, and a pretty darn good marriage—life is good. While those three things leave little time for anything else, here’s a brief update on current events and things to come…

Maddie, our newest addition to the family, has acid reflux. We found out a little late in the game, so for the first few weeks we were convinced that we would not have any more children. Now, however, we have the right medication to treat the reflux and she’s a very happy little girl (and in turn, her mother and I are very happy too). She still has lots of dark hair and chubby cheeks that simply demand to be kissed. I’ll have to get around to posting more pics one of these days.

My business is doing extremely well. The most difficult aspect as of now is finding time to complete all of the work (which is a good problem to have, I’m told). Most of my work consists of website design and development, but I’ve managed to keep my hands in print and logo work as well. Surprisingly enough, one part I enjoy most is simply running the business—who’d of thunk it?

In the realm of typography, I’ve almost completed my first type design (seriously), which lacks only a few alternate characters and spacing refinements. The opportunity to try my hand at letterpress printing may also be on the horizon—more about that later.

As I said, there’s not a lot to complain about these days. Naturally, there’s more I wish I could get to, but the days are only so long—and part of the fun is looking forward to that next thing, right? Well, I’ve got lots of next things lined up, so until next time, here’s to the good life.
